Bright Red or Pink — Transmission Fluid or Power Steering Fluid
A vivid red or pink puddle typically points to automatic transmission fluid (ATF) or power steering fluid. Fresh ATF is bright red and slightly sweet-smelling; older fluid may darken toward reddish-brown. Location matters: transmission leaks tend to appear toward the middle of the vehicle, while power steering leaks cluster near the front. Bright Green, Orange, or Pink — Engine Coolant

- Drive-with-caution (small oil seep, minor transmission drip): Check fluid levels, top up only if the manufacturer's guide permits, and schedule a mechanic visit promptly — within days, not weeks.
- Monitor (minor power steering seep, small coolant drip after the engine cools): Document when and how much is leaking, monitor levels at every fill-up, and get a professional diagnosis soon.
